Process for conditioning low to medium activity waste
Description
The conditioning of radioactive waste by vitrification using electrical electrodes by generating heat of melting is done in melting pots, which are used as final containers. The electrodes remain in the melted material, which is covered with cement paste after controlled cooling. The loading and heating is done using a furnace hood, which is connected to an exhaust gas system. (orig.)

Die Konditionierung radioaktiver Abfaelle durch Verglasen mit Hilfe von elektrischen Elektroden durch Erzeugung der Schmelzwaerme wird in Schmelztiegeln vorgenommen, die zugleich als Endlagerbehaelter dienen. Die Elektroden verbleiben im Schmelzgut, das nach gesteuerter Abkuehlung mit Zementbrei abgedeckt wird. Die Beschickung und Beheizung wird mit Hilfe einer Ofenhaube vorgenommen, die an ein Abgassystem angeschlossen ist. (orig.)Additional details
