The ossification principle of the laryngeal skeleton
Description
In 94 decreased of both sexes aged 15 to 79 who had not has any affections of the larynx itself, the laryngeal skeleton was X-rayed after removing the soft parts, to demonstrate the ossification processes. Furthermore the deformation of the thyroid cartilage caused at the larynx by the laryngopharyngeal muscle in the act of swallowing was experimentally induced and determined with the aid of strain gauges. Bei 94 Verstorbenen beiderlei Geschlechts im Alter von 15 bis 79 Jahren ohne kehlkopfeigene Erkrankungen wurde nach Entfernung der Weichteile das Kehlkopfskelet zur Darstellung der Verknoecherungsvorgaenge geroentgt. Ferner wurde die beim Schluckakt durch den M. laryngopharyngicus am Kehlkopf bewirkte Verformung des Schildknorpels experimentell imitiert und mit Hilfe von Dehnungsmessstreifen bestimmt. (orig.)
