Radiotoxins
Description
The book considers radiotoxins occurring in irradiated biological objects. Under the effect of ionizing radiation on biological media, food products, biological tissues and whole plant and animal organisms, including man, radiotoxins appear in the irradiated object that take an active part in the formation of the final radiobiological effect. The chemical nature of radiotoxins, their propertiese conditions of formation, mechanisms of action, role in the development of the damaging effect of high radiation doses and stimulating effect of low doses, are considered. The attention is paid to the role of radiotoxins in the development of the radiation disease, radiation protection of agricultural products from spoiling etc. Possible ways of weakening and strengthening the radiation effect based on radiotoxin properties are considered
