Description
This paper discusses the use of potassium in in-situ uranium leaching in order to eliminate some problems associated with ammonium carbonate leaches and sodium carbonate solutions. It is shown that potassium bicarbonate systems leach uranium without loss of permeability found with sodium. Also, potassium salts were found to be very effective in restoring ammonia-leached sites
