K-line emission

Description

The experimental investigation of X-ray emission of vacuum diode with laser-plasma cathode in order to develop powerful short-pulse source of X-ray monochromatic radiation is conducted. The dependences of X-ray pulses parameters on the accelerating potential, interelectrode gap value and laser beam focusing conduction are determined. By using Ti anode the emission of quanta with energy of 4.5 keV (TiKα) in the pulse with duration less than 20 ns and spectral brightness of 1019 photons/cm2.s.sr.keV is observed. The measured amplitude of diode current reaches 8 kA, which corresponds to anode density of 1 MA/cm2. (author)
