The significance and outlook of self human factors engineering integrated system validation (HFE ISV) in nuclear power station

  • 1. Sanmen Nuclear Power Co., Ltd, Taizhou (China)

Description

Fully observing the Human Factors Engineering (HFE) principles is an important philosophy of Nuclear Power Station Design and a basic safety technical requirement, which is also a compelling request by HAF and NUREG. The Integrated System Validation (ISV) belongs to a complex and paramount part of the Plant Human Factors Verification and Validation (V and V). ISV evaluates the availability of the Human-System Interface (HSI) in MCR and ensures all the HSI resources bearing up the functions and tasks those assignment to people. ISV provides a comprehensive human performance-based assessment of the Nuclear Power Station Human-System Interface (HSI) resources, relevant to hardware, software, personal elements of the Plant Operator, Operator Training, and execution of appropriate Operating Instructions (procedures). Self ISV activity has a great many productions and significance, which detects and fixes up the HFE differences while provides the reactor safeguard. Self ISV also has the ability for promoting the optimization of the Station continuously, and in favor of the long-term operational performance as well as self technical promotion. (authors)
