Description
The beryllium neutron-production cross sections have been measured using the time-of-flight technique at 14.2 MeV incident neutron energy and at 13 laboratory angles between 25 and 155 deg. The neutron flight path is 4.725 m. The overall time resolution of TOF system is about 2.8 ns and energy resolution for 14.2 MeV neutrons is 6.5%. The absolute value of the cross section was determined relative to n-p scattering cross section by measuring scattering neutron yields from a polyethylene sample. The experimental results are corrected for neutron fluence attenuation, multiple scattering and finite geometry by means of Monte-Carlo method. The experimental results are also compared with those of other authors
