Comparison of solidification temperatures of different rare earth sesquioxides; effect of atmosphere

Description
The measurement of the solidification point of the rare earth sesquioxides shows anomalies for La2O3, Gd2O3, Lu2O3 and allows to find the well known ceric group and yttric group. The effects of the atmosphere on the refractory character are generally low. An interpretation in order to explain the observed changes, is proposed

La mesure du point de solidification des sesquioxydes de terres rares en fonction du numero atomique de la terre rare fait apparaitre trois anomalies pour La2O3, Gd2O3, Lu2O3 et permet de retrouver les groupes cerique et yttrique.
