Shielding assembly for a nuclear reactor
Description
The shielding for a gas-cooled fast reactor consists of a succession of layers being arranged at a distance from the source of neutrons with energies above 70 keV. In moderator layers of MgO or graphite e.g. graphite and iron bars or MgO bars are uniformly arranged. These moderator layers are followed by absorber layers of stainless steel and concrete with or without boron. (DG)

Die Abschirmung fuer einen gasgekuehlten, schnellen Reaktor besteht aus einer sukzessiven Folge von Schichten, die im Abstand zur Quelle der Neutronen mit Energien ueber 70 keV angeordnet sind. In Moderatorschichten aus MgO bzw. Graphit sind z.B. Graphit und Eisenstangen bzw. MgO-Stangen gleichfoermig untergebracht. Diesen Moderatorschichten folgen Adsorberschichten aus rostfreiem Stahl und Beton mit oder ohne Bor. (DG)Files
