Introduction of carbon dioxide in uranium-allyl bond in tricyclopentadienyluranallyl

Description

Interaction of carbon dioxide with Cp3UR(R-alkyl, allyl, Cp=eta5-C5H5) is investigated to study the character of uranium-carbon bond and its reactivity towards nucleophilic reagent. It is ascertained, that tricyclopentadienyluraniumallyl in toluene absorbs equimolar amount of CO2, at that uranium oxidation state does not change. Analysis of 1H NMR spectra of Cp3UC3H5-CO2 system and the study of the hydrolysis products ofcompound formed confirmed CO2 introduction into uranium-allyl bond with the formation of tricyclopentadienyluranium carboxylate. The sensitivity of uranium-allyl bond to nucleophilic reagent as compared withuranium-alkyl bond is due to the presence of *P-9-regroupingof allyl ligand
