Influence of structure on stress corrosion cracking of Zr-2.5% Nb alloy welded joints
- 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kiev (Ukrainian SSR). Inst. Ehlektrosvarki
Description
The character of Zr-2.5 % Nb alloy welded joint fracture after heat treatment at 850, 1020 and 1270 K in the process of uniaxial tension of samples in CH3OH+0.4 g/l HCl solution has been studied. It is ascertained that the sample fracture in the initial state takes place mainly over the basic metal through the grain body. Samples subjected to heat treatment in α-region (850K) have the highest tendency for corrosion cracking. Annealing in β-region increases resistance to corrosionm cracking as a result of grain boundary blocking by niobium
