Complementarity of hydro and wind energy in Quebec
Description
This poster investigates the dependence of hydro and wind yearly energy inflows since 1958. The main interest is to see whether wind capacity can attenuate the volatility of the energy inflow to a hydro system, thanks to a diversification effect. The study takes a long-term, value-at-risk perspective and considers the risk of production deficit over one year
