Impulsive acoustic nuclear resonance study of 127I nuclear spin-phonon coupling in CsI crystals

Description

Experimentally and theoretically the process of resonance excitation of the Zeeman spin-system of 127I nuclei in CsI crystals by acoustic and electromagnetic pulse combination is investigated. The anisotropy of nuclear quadrupole spin-phonon coupling (NQSPC) transverse on ultrasonic waves qualitatively conforming with the NQSPC crystal theory has been observed. Formulas for calculating average value of sample magnetization components upon effect on the spin-system (I=5/2) of acoustic and electromagnetic pulses are derived. A new method of experimental determining the NQSPC constants is suggested. The absolute value of the S44 constant of dynamic quadrupole coupling of 122I nuclei in CsI crystals is determined
