Development of theta pinch discharges for emission spectrochemical analysis
Description
The theta pinch discharge has been demonstrated to be a useful solids sampling and excitation source for emission spectrochemical analysis. For both conducting and insulating solids, adequate sampling for major and minor component detection has been demonstrated. Time-resolved studies indicate the means for providing adequate signal to background ratios. Engineering considerations for better control of sampling and quantitative analysis are described.
