Description

Through the CANDU Owners Group (COG), the waste generators within Canada have come together to form the COG Radioactive Waste Leadership Forum (RWLF). The RWLF has been established as a Senior Executive Forum to identify strategies and solutions for management of the waste streams from low and intermediate level waste to high level waste, with due consideration for worker and public safety, and protection of the environment. The purpose of the Forum is to promote dialogue and discussion between the radioactive waste owners and key stakeholders within Canada and to enhance mutual understanding and alignment on major issues and strategic direction for the industry. Members include Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO), Bruce Power, New Brunswick Power, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, Hydro Quebec and AECL. The Canadian Nuclear Association is also included as a standing observer. This presentation will provide an update and highlights of the work being undertaken by the RWLF and upcoming plans for further collaboration
