Thermo- and photoinduced structural transformations in LiNbO3:Fe monocrystals

Description
Results of combined optical and EPR investigations of LiNbO3 monocrystals doped with iron are presented. The role of structural defects induced by light irradiation and heat treatment in oxygen or vacuum is reexamined. EPR-controlled processes of charge transfer under light irradiation at both room temperature and T = 77 K are investigated. Different models of processes are revised and a new model is proposed.
