Anomalous radiation effects on an oxide materials surface

Creators

Description

In the work general radiation regularities of absorption in relation to oxygen and hydrogen for such oxide system as silicon dioxide, rare earth elements oxides, beryllium oxide, zeolites were studied. Electron-hole properties at irradiation by protons with energy 30 MeV, alpha-particles and 3He ions with energy 40, 50 MeV, gamma-rays and ultraviolet radiation, as well as nuclear reactor neutrons are examined in particular. It was determined 3 types of anomalies: 1) absence of hydrogen photoabsorption in a number of oxides, in general in wide-zone oxides; 2) absence of oxygen radiation absorption in scandium oxide; 3) absence of hydrogen radiation adsorption in some rare earth elements oxides
