Analytical review of materials of the International conference of specialists-chemists and research centers of the world, which was organized by the Japanese Nuclear Industrial Forum in October 1998 under the motto: Technical achievements for further improvement in reliability and safety of NPPs in the 21-st century, is presented. Reports on the water-chemical modes at NPPs with BWR, which are of the highest interest and importance for solving the problem on the national nuclear engineering and also contain certain general issues of chemical technology, are considered
