Renewable energy potential, technology and economics of Uzbekistan

This paper reports that according to estimates of the experts, the republics of Central Asia are favorable for using solar energy. The perspectiveness of utilizing the solar energy is determined by the fact that approximately 50% of utilized energy is spent for low- temperature processes, which to some extent can be provided by solar energy. The investigations, performed by Research Institute of the Sciences, Uzbekistan, approve the possibility of wide utilization of solar energy for heat supply, hot water heating, hot water supply, air conditioning, electricity, drying of agricultural products, thermo-formation of reinforced concrete wares, desalination of mineral water, etc
