Study on irradiation effect and ESR dating of calcite

Description
The ESR (Electron Spin Resonance) spectra and the irradiation effect of sythetic calcite and natural stalagmite have been studied in this paper. The average ESR age of the stalagmite at the Fouth Place, Choukoutien cave, is (6.0 ± 0.8) x 104 a, calculated by means of the parameters of TD (total natural irradiation dose) and D (annual irradiation dose). This result is concordant with the averae age of (6.5 ± 0.4) x 104 a by Useries method
