The new radiation protection ordinance from the viewpoint of the nuclear medical

Description

The new federal regulation of radiation protection in Germany is the next step towards complete federal control of using radioisotopes in medicine. For nuclear physicians working in a private environment certain topics are of great significance: legal access to radioactivity, local radiation control, radiation protection for the medical staff and for the patients, handling of radioactive waste, control by medical physics experts and medical institution. Abstract (German)

Die neue Strahlenschutzverordnung mit Richtlinie 'Strahlenschutz in der Medizin' ist ein weiterer Schritt zur kompletten staatlichen Ueberwachung aerztlichen Umganges mit Radioaktivitaet. Fuer den niedergelassenen Arzt sind besonders wichtig die Abschnitte zu Fachkunde, Strahlenschutzbereich, beruflicher Exposition, technischer Assistenz, Ablieferung radioaktiver Stoffe, Patientenschutz sowie die neu eingefuehrten Institutionen des Medizinphysikexperten und der aerztlichen Stelle.
