Influence of magnetic field and pressure on electric resistance of CeMo6S8

  • 1. Moskovskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ. (USSR)

Description

A study was made on the effect of magnetic field, alloying and pressure on electric resistance of CeMo6S8 compound at different temperatures. It was established that observed strong negative magnetoresistance of CeMo6S8 compound was conditioned by scattering of conductivity electrons with spin flipping on magnetic moment of cerium atoms. Temperature and field dependences of compound resistance were typical for Kondo-scattering. Pressure application didn't result to sufficient growth of Kondo temperature. CeMo6S8 alloying by tin resulted to destruction of magnetic ordering and disappearance of Kondo-scattering at T > 1.8 K
