The cell structure formation in deformed beryllium

Description
Conditions of cell structure formation have been studied for cast distilled beryllium deformed by different ways: rolling (Tsub(def.) = 400 to 9000C, epsilon = 15 to 95%), extrusion (Tsub(def.) = 400 to 7000C, epsilon = 50 to 95%), hydroextrusion (Tsub(def.) = 3500C, epsilon = 40 to 92%) and quasihydrostatic pressing (Tsub(def.) = 20 to 6000C, epsilon = 80%).Cell structure formation is favoured by the increase of the temperature and degree of the deformation. Annealing under optimum conditions leads to cell structure perfection and an essential improvement of strength and plasticity characteristics of the metal. (author)
