Simulating nuclear waste disposal and storage

As regards disposal and storage of nuclear waste, as in other areas, simulation complements experimentation. More than in other areas of concern, however, owing to the time scale involved, simulation can substitute for experimentation. Its function? To facilitate the search for the decisive parameters in the evolution of a site, of materials and packages, and finally the evolution of radiation doses that must be contained as long as they could have an effect on man.
