The activities of IMF in the following fields are discussed: 1) Project Schneller Brueter (core, cladding, and structural materials; safety analyses; instrumentation; core monitoring.) 2) Project Nukleare Sicherheit (fuel element behaviour during accidents; core meltdown) 3) Project Wiederaufarbeitung und Abfallbehandlung (reprocessing and waste treatment) 4) Fusion technology 5) Innovation research.
