Theory of gas discharge maintained by the electromagnetic symmetric surface wave allowing for radial non-uniformity of the magnetized plasma

Description

This report is devoted to the theoretical study of the phase characteristics, attenuation coefficient and axial electron density distribution in gas discharge maintained by symmetric high frequency electromagnetic wave in the diffusion controlled regime. The phase and attenuation surface wave characteristics, and the axial electron density distribution were considered in the approach of slightly axial non-uniformity plasma density. It was shown that the plasma density non-uniformity greatly influences on the wave characteristics and gas discharge axial structure
