Basic training of personnel at WWER-1000 nuclear power plant and maintenance of their professional qualities

Since 1983, the practical training of personnel of the Bulgarian Kozloduj nuclear power plant took place at Soviet nuclear power plants. At the Novovoronezh power plant mainly unit operators of WWER-440 reactors were trained, operators for the Kozloduj 1000 MW unit were trained at the Zaporozhe and Balakovo power plants. At present, with the Kozloduj 1000 MW unit already in operation, staff training goes on in Bulgaria with participation of Soviet specialists. The training course is concluded with special training for accident situations, which includes also fire protection. An automated training system is being developed. (Z.M.)
