The influence of ion implantation on emission characteristics conducting and superconducting materials

  • 1. Tashkent State Technical Univ., Tashkent (Uzbekistan)

Description

By the methods of secondary and photo-electronic spectroscopy is studied composition, crystal and electronic structure of W, Pd, Pd-Ba alloy and CuOY2O3BaO superconductor surface layers implanted by Ba+ ions with (E0 =1-5 keV) low energy and (D≥1016 cm-2) high dose. In all events the reduction of work function and increase the emission efficiency. In the event of Pd ion implantation is accompanied by combination of type Pd2Ba and PdBa formation, but in the event of W doesn't observed any chemical links formation. In the event of CuOY2O3BaO the Ba ions implantation brings to concentrations of BaO combination increasing and some enrichment of surface by Cu and Y atoms. These change occur only at surface area with thickness of 40-50 Angstrom, on - visible therefore critical temperature of superconductor (Tc=85±1.5 K) practically does not change. It is established that in process of ion implantation occurring the 'compression' of superconductor surface layers. This leads to essential reduction of alien impurity atom penetration into superconductor when bearing its on air or to other ambience
