Radiation effect on CdTe crystals and γ-ray detectors

Description

The effects of irradiation-induced damage on CdTe γ detector performance have been investigated by evaluation of the photopeaks of 241Am (59.5 keV) and 137Cs (662 keV) γ rays at room temperature under successive irradiation of 60Co γ rays (>105R h-1). The recovery stage of the detectors is centred at about 550 K. This is coincident with that of electron mobilities in bulk crystals. (author)
