Description
The design of electron gun, which is one part of a linac for food irradiation, is described. In order to get the optimum model, the electric field in the gun is calculated, and the process of beam emission is simulated considering the space charge effects. Parameters measured in debugging experiment show that the facility has satisfied the design targets. The effect of solenoid's leakage field on the beam of the electron gun has also been discussed.
