Vibrational spectra and thermal decomposition of rhenium (3) binuclear sulfates

  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow (Russian Federation). Inst. Obshchej i Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

Methods of synthesis have been elaborated, vibrational spectra and thermal decomposition of rhenium binuclear sulfates of the composition M2[Re2(SO4)4]xnH2O (M = Cs+, K+, NH4+) and Cs2[Re2(SO4)3X2]xnH2O (X = Cl-, OH-) have been studied. The reasons for the anomalies revealed in IR spectra of rhenium binuclear complexes with metal-metal short bonds, which in all probability are characteristic of all classes of bi- and polynuclear clusters, are discussed. It is assumed that vibrational spectra more distinctly than other properties of the compounds reveal the presence of interbound systems with cyclic transfer of electrons in the complexes studied. 17 refs.; 2 figs.; 4 tabs
