Description
With the development of new technologies that aims the improvement of techniques for treatment of various diseases, theranostic nanomedicine, nanotheranostic, arises as to integrate in the same compound, a drug, a contrast agent and a nanocarrier. Theranostic nanomedicine becomes effective in diagnostic treatments in early stages like cancer; because through diagnostic-treatment combination can create a more personalized medicine or track at the same time the delivery of the drug and the response of treatment for each type of patient. There are several types of nanomaterials with potential in theranostic nanomedicine, in this work we evaluate one of them, magnetic nanoparticles, especially iron oxide - hematite. (author)
