The superconducting cyclotron AGOR: Accelerator for light and heavy ions

  • 1. Kernfysisch Versneller Instituut, 9747 AA Groningen (Netherlands)

Description

The main characteristics of the design of the superconducting AGOR cyclotron, aiming at acceleration of both light and heavy ions, are described with the emphasis on novel developments as compared to previous superconducting cyclotrons. The axial injection system and the RF system are discussed in some more detail. The present status of the project is reviewed
