Nuclear power plant aging and lifetime management with the COMSY software tool
Description
The main challenge of lifetime management in nuclear power plants is to maintain the integrity of systems, components and structures over long operational periods. In order to accomplish this problem it is important to know the specific and relevant damage mechanisms of each system, component or structure. The software tool COMSY is supporting knowledge-based life time management strategies. The program includes advanced calculations tools and models for damage prediction and an extensive material properties library and is performing the management of inspection data. Based on COMSY a condition-oriented lifetime assessment for components and piping systems is available. Results from component inspections are systematically used to refine the lifetime assessment.
