Moessbauer study of the iron phases produced during the combustion of egyptian maghara coal
Description
Coal combustion causes several environmental pollution problems. The iron phases produced were identified by Moessbauer spectroscopy (M S), when maghara coal is heated in air during the temperature range 300-900 k. The Moessbauer results showed that a part of pyrite was converted to szomolnokite at t=600 k. The oxidation of pyrite and szomolnokite to hematite was observed at 700 k. Comparative Moessbauer study was made between the ashes of maghara coal as recorded in ASTM and different coal standard from russia (9), Austria and America. 5 figs., 3 tabs
