Orano transforms nuclear materials so that they can be used to support the development of society, first and foremost in the field of energy. The group offers products and services with high added value throughout the entire nuclear fuel cycle, from raw materials to waste treatment. This safety report was established in accordance with articles L. 125-15 of the French environmental code. It presents: the Orano Melox facility (location, environment, operator, history, Mox fuel fabrication, clients, continuous improvement and integrated management system, national radioactive waste management plan, regulatory aspects, frames of reference evolution, environment and safety policy, Melox facilities evolution), the actions for the prevention and limitation of risks (nuclear safety, Orano's policy, specific dispositions at Melox, facility safety organisation, radiation protection and ALARA principle, 2022 report, dosimetry results, transports (legal aspects and risk prevention), emergency preparedness drills, 2023 outlook), the declared nuclear events of the past year, the environment monitoring and protection (effluents management and environment monitoring, resources consumption, effluents control, environmental impact, wastes management and minimization, 2023 outlook), and the actions of communication and public information made by the direction of the facility.
