Plasma facing equipment for thermonuclear reactor
Description
In a plasma-facing equipment for a thermonuclear reactor, at least one of titanium, titanium alloy, vanadium and vanadium alloy is used as a basic component material, and at least one of tungsten, tungsten alloy, molybdenum and molybdenum alloy is joined to the plasma-facing side. The temperature at the surface of the material facing to coolants is set to lower than 200degC to adjust permeability. The temperature at the surface on the side of the plasmas is maintained to higher than 300degC, and the temperature at the surface on the side of the cooling function is maintained to lower than 150degC. Since the permeating amount of tritium injected from the plasmas is suppressed by tungsten then adsorbed by titanium, the amount of tritium reaching the coolants is reduced. Since the temperature on the side of the cooling function is low, the amount of adsorbed tritium leaking to the is small. Further, since the temperature on the side of the plasmas is high, the tritium concentration in the titanium material is lowered. Then, the weight of the equipment is reduced, thereby enabling to lighten the weight of the device. (N.H.)
