The mass gap of the Gross-Neveu model for elementary fermions

Description
We calculate in perturbation theory, up to the first non-trivial order, the finite size mass gap for the elementary fermions of the Gross-Neveu fermionic model. The connection with the condensate which breaks the discrete chiral symmetry of the model is discussed. (orig.)
