Estimation of νμ ↔ ντ oscillation parameters in the E-564 hybrid experiment

Description

The results of the estimation of the νμ ↔ ντ oscillation parameters obtained as a by-product of emulsion experiment E-564 are presented. Limits on the parameters of the νμ ↔ ντ oscillations obtained in the hybrid experiment are: m2 ≤ 2.7 eV2, and sin2(2θ) ≤ 6.0 · 10-2 (90% CL). A possibility of direct observation of τ-lepton decays in the nuclear emulsion vertex detector made possible to increase the sensitivity of this experiment to the parameters of the oscillation.
