Application of the interpolation approach to the study of intermediate-structure resonances in the 12C+12C reaction

  • 1. I. V. Kurchatov Atomic Energy Institute

Description

The 12C--12C elastic- and inelastic-scattering cross sections in the incident-ion energy range E/sub c.m./ = 10--22 MeV have been calculated for J = 10 and J = 12 states, using an interpolation approach with a simple parametrization of the channel-coupling constants and the constants coupling the channels to states of the compound-nucleus type. It is shown that with an appropriate choice of parameters one can describe not only the gross structure, but also the intermediate-structure resonances observed in the cross sections
