The bill would focus existing programs in nuclear fission research at the Department of Energy and would establish a program for research, development, and demonstration of advanced technologies for the generation of commercial electric power from nuclear fission. The bill authorizes hearings to develop information upon which to base the decisions and recommendations required to comply with provisions of this act
