Description

Comprehensive methodical investigations concerning the characterization of fission foils used in fission cross-section measurements by the time correlated associated particle method (TCAPM) are presented. The efforts were focussed on the development and application of several experimental methods for the determination of fission fragment absorption losses within the layers of the fissile nuclides. Furthermore, techniques for the determination of the fission foil parameters areal density and inhomogeneity are introduced. (orig.)
