Effect of preparation method and modification on physicochemical properties of ZrO2

Description
Effect of preparation techniques and modification on phase composition, surface acceptor properties and catalytic activity of zirconium oxide is investigated. Thermal phase transitions of ZrO2 are investigated using X-ray phase and differential thermal analysis. By means of paramagnetic probes (NO and thanan) and EPR technique it is determined, that there are strong acceptor centres, that is, Zr4+ coordination-unsaturated ions, on catalyzer surface. Modification of zirconium oxide surface by sulfate-ions is shown to result in the essential increase of intensity of surface acceptor centres and in high catalytic activity in n-hexane isomerization
