General approach to quality in design

Creators

  • 1. Princeton Univ, NJ, USA

Description

Design engineers, either consciously or unconsciously, use quality work elements to achieve quality in design. these quality work elements are identified, classified as basic or optional, and explained. The rationale for applying them to the design of fusion devices is presented in terms of effects on performance and costs. Relevant quality terms are defined, and elements of the design quality system are described. Quality of design is the direct responsibility of the design engineer
