Hydrodynamical description of the missing-mass clusters

A hydrodynamical approach is presented in order to study the large-missing-mass clusters often produced in high-energy hadron-hadron collisions. By analogy with Landau's hydrodynamical model, these systems of particles are treated as originating from the expansion of a highly compressed fluid, which is formed during a collision and which is assumed to be at rest at t = 0 in the center-of-mass frame of the resulting cluster. Comparisons with the existing data on the average multiplicity, the multiplicity distribution, and the rapidity distribution of charged particles inside a cluster show quite good agreements, giving support to the present approach
