Effect of supersaturation and microheterogeneity zones on amine extraction kinetics

Description

Using the method of conductiometric probing the investigation of the near-surface organic phase layer in the extraction systems with salts of amines and quaternary ammonium bases (tri-n-octylamine, di-n-dodecylamine, methyltricaprylammonium chloride, 1,1',1''-tri-alkylmethylamine) has been carried out. It is shown that the layers are supersaturated by the system components during mass transfer through phase interface, which results in additional diffusion resistance to mass transfer. Kinetics of UO2SO4 mass transfer in the system (TOAH)2SO4-toluene-H2SO4-water is studied as an example. Dependences of coefficients of mass transfer and near surface electric conductivity on the intensity of mixing are presented
