Technique of double beam impinging on internal targets of high-energy synchrotrons

Description

To use effectively a synchrotron, suggested is the method of double guidance of an accelerated beam on internal synchrotron targets. The beam is guided on the target at the end of each cycle by means of beam deflection in two mutually perpendicular directions. It is shown that the double guidance method permits to use simultaneously two targets located in succession in neighbour focussing gaps, as a regime of one target operation independent of operation of others can be always provided and redistribution of intensity between all the others is preserved independent of the method of radial guidance. Besides, the method use results in a simple and evident solution of the problem of simultaneous operation of synchrotron radiation channels and gamma channels for the maximum current values of the accelerated beam
