Description
Purpose: To facilitate transportation and installation of devices and at the same time to realize a better sealed lead shield. Constitution: Lead particle bag is placed over high-radiation pipes and a hose for transferring lead particles in connected to it through a coupler. Then a mesh type filter is installed on the upper and lower sides of the lead particle bag along with an air release valve. A valve to recover the lead particles is provided on the lower side of the lead particle bag through a coupler. Then a lead particle delivery pipe and a lead particle recovery pipe is installed in a area outside the radioactive area. When lead particles are filled in the bag, a pressure pump is used for this purpose. The lead particles stored in a storage tank are transported along with pressurized air to fill the lead particle bag. To empty the said bag, the setting of the valves is changed and the compression pump is started to retransport the lead particles to the storage tank. If the lead is found to be contaminated it is routed to another lead storage container. (Kawakami, Y.)
