Factor analysis and scintigraphy

Description

The goal of factor analysis is usually to achieve reduction of a large set of data, extracting essential features without previous hypothesis. Due to the development of computerized systems, the use of largest sampling, the possibility of sequential data acquisition and the increase of dynamic studies, the problem of data compression can be encountered now in routine. Thus, results obtained for compression of scintigraphic images were first presented. Then possibilities given by factor analysis for scan processing were discussed. At last, use of this analysis for multidimensional studies and specially dynamic studies were considered for compression and processing

Abstract (French)

Le but de l'analyse factorielle est habituellement de realiser la reduction d'une quantite importante de donnees et d'extraire les caracteristiques essentielles. Du fait du developpement de l'utilisation des ordinateurs, la selection d'un echantillonnage plus vaste, la possibilite d'acquistion sequentielle de donnees et l'accroissement des etudes dynamiques, le probleme de la compression des donnees peut etre aborde en routine. On a presente, tout d'abord, les resultats obtenus pour la compression des images scintigraphiques. On a discute ensuite les possibilites offertes par l'analyse factorielle pour le traitement des donnees. Enfin, l'utilisation de cette analyse pour les etudes multidimensionnelles et specialement pour les etudes dynamiques
