Description

The photo-neutron source driven by 15 MeV electrons LINAC in Thorium molten salt reactor (TMSR) project was designed for Th-U cycle nuclear data measurement. The photo-neutron source combined with time of flight (TOF) spectra is the most accurate method in neutron energy measurement, it plays a very important role in the thermal and resonance neutron cross section measurement. This photo-neutron facility supplies the 5 m flight path and neutron energy is available between 0.025 eV and ∼ 10 eV) with the flux of ∼ 105 n/s/cm2n as well as low energy gamma ray ∼ 1 MeVo This facility will be used in measuring neutron total cross section, macro neutron cross section, neutron capture cross section, and neutron/gamma irradiation study as well.
